These mounted wall fountains can be a great addition to any room from the bedroom to the porch. Meanwhile, the gently trickling sounds of water falling add a soothing soundtrack to any environment.
An indoor wall fountain can be as simple as a small basin or as grand as a large bottom-lit slab of burnished copper. Choose from a wide range of materials such as aluminum, bamboo, copper, resin, stainless steel, slate, pebbles and glass… the choices are unlimited. With so many styles and forms to choose from, an indoor wall fountain can complement any décor or design scheme.
Traditional indoor wall fountain designs are usually cast in resin or some sort of stone. They are very conservative in design, usually incorporating a face or a traditional floral, celestial or animal design. Some are available in a lattice work pattern, which allows that extra bit of stylish flair. The water generally runs from a spout, which can be camouflaged in the mouth of a figure, into the basin.
If you are planning to purchase and install an indoor wall fountain, keep in mind that the wall you plan to affix it to must be able to withstand the added weight. If you are worried about the strength of the wall, you might want to consider installing a small traditional fountain rather than the larger slab styles. Bear in mind that you must also have easy access to an electrical outlet in order to power your fountain.
If you’re a follower of the Chinese decorating scheme Feng Shui, be sure to place your indoor wall fountain against the correct wall in order to maintain the right balance of energy levels (known as ‘chi’) within your home. Feng Shui dictates that you should avoid placing the fountain against a south wall, as this is the wall associated with fire and power and the water will thus negate the influential power of the fire.
