The range of Sanyo projectors
A huge multinational company, Sanyo manufactures products for many different areas of industry and entertainment. From digital cameras to Co2 incubation units for laboratories, Sanyo's technological advances can be seen in almost every facet of modern day living. They produce a wide range of projectors ranging from small portable projectors up to their large fixed projectors.
At the lower end of the scale both financially and in terms of size and power is Sanyo's range of 'micro-mobile' projectors. The PLC-SW30 is the smallest weighing in at a tiny 4.6 lbs, using SVGA (800 x 600) resolution and a very respectable 1250 ANSI lumens it is very good value at around $1300. The PLC-XW20AR makes up the other half of the range. For around $2000 it uses XGA (1024 x 768) resolution with 1100 ANSI lumens and weighs 6.2 lbs.
Next come Sanyo's portable and ultra-portable range. The ultra-portable range are all LCD projectors (Liquid Crystal Display) mostly using XGA resolution although two models, the PLC-SU50S and PLC-SU60 operate within the boundaries of SVGA. In terms of brightness they occupy a range between 1500 and 3000 ANSI lumens and vary between $2500 and $5000 price wise. The portable range are exclusively XGA resolution projectors and have ANSI lumen ratings that fall between 2500 and 4500. You can expect to pay somewhere in the region of $5000 for a standard model and up to $9500 for the top projector in this range.
Sanyo has four fixed projectors on the market at the moment. At the top of this range comes the PLC-EF31N/NL which is the only projector in this range to operate using a SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution. With a brightness level of 5800 ANSI lumens this sophisticated piece of equipment will set you back between $23,000 and $24,000. The PLC-XF31/35 are two XGA projectors with ANSI lumen ratings of 6500 and cost between $15,000 and $20,000. The final projector in this range is the slightly cheaper PLC-WF10, which at around $13,000 boasts an XGA resolution with 4000 ANSI lumens coupled with widescreen (16:9) technology.
The largest, and indeed most powerful, projectors that Sanyo produce are there LCD large fixed projectors. Among these is the PLC-HD10 utilizes High Definition technology giving a staggering resolution of (1920 x 1080). The PLC-XF41 and PLC-XF45 are two large LCD projectors with ANSI lumen ratings of 7700 and 10,000 respectively and cost between $22,000 and $30,000. At around $50,000 you can purchase the extremely high-tech PLC-UF15, with a brightness level of 7700 ANSI lumens it is also the only projector in the range to use UXGA (1600 x 1200) resolution to give an ultra-clear picture.
