BenQ Projectors

Top Quality Projectors

BenQ Projectors

BenQ have gained themselves an enviable global reputation by producing top quality goods primarily in the fields of communication and digital technologies. BenQ provide a wide range of projectors for use in home cinema/theater or as an aid in business presentations.

BenQ’s range of home theater projectors combine years of innovation and digital expertise with design application of the highest level. Weighing in at a meagre 7 lbs the PE6800 is perfectly suited to smaller home theater set-ups giving an impressive 800 ANSI lumens of brightness combined with WSVGA (1024 x 576) resolution.

Perhaps more suited to larger home cinema systems are the PE7800 and PE8700. Both using DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology, the PE7800 uses WSVGA and has a brightness level of 800 ANSI lumens compared to the PE8700’s 1000 ANSI lumens and WXGA (1280 x 720) resolution. These models usually retail at between $4000 and $8000 and all have a native 16:9 ratio, perfect for watching movies cinema-style!

Mobility is becoming an ever more important feature of today’s presentation projectors. BenQ manufacture two main types of portable projectors. The PB2140 and its very similar counter part PB2240 both use DLP technology giving 1600/2000 ANSI lumens respectively and using SVGA/XGA resolutions. These usually retail at around the $3000 mark. The PB2120/PB2220 projectors offer 1200/1700 ANSI lumens and SVGA and XGA resolutions respectively and cost between $1000 and $2400. All of these models are lightweight at between 3.8 and 4.2 lbs each.

At a slightly heavier 5.9 lbs come BenQ’s ‘professional’ range. Varying in price from $1695 for the PB7100 to $3095 for the PB7220. In terms of brightness these mid-range projectors create between 1800 and 2500 ANSI lumens with the PB7100 using SVGA resolution and the rest of this range of DLP projectors using XGA. BenQ’s ‘professional’ projectors all operate using an incredible 2000:1 contrast ratio giving almost unparalleled detail and clarity of color.

BenQ also produce larger ‘installation’ projectors for use in larger, often public, venues. This therefore requires a high level of consistency and reliability. Placed amongst the best performing projectors, BenQ have ensured reliability and long life by introducing complex cooling and air filtration systems. The DLP technology used also contributes greatly to the longevity, as the DMD chip tends not to decay easily through time unlike LCD projectors that tend to distort after a while. Still reasonably compact and weighing only 6.9 lbs the PB8120/8220/8230 models give between 1800 and 2500 ANSI lumens and operate using SVGA (PB8120) and XGA resolutions. The larger PB8250/8240/8140 models (7.9 lbs) give a brighter 3000 ANSI lumens and all operate in XGA resolutions. All of BenQ’s ‘installation’ projectors have a 2000:1 contrast ratio.
