Used Cars Quotes
Check out a Used Car Price Guide or look Online
This is actually quite a loaded question, after all it's easy to get a quote for your used car, but its hard to find the right one. Look at it from this point of view. The reason why there are used car dealers is that what people are prepared to sell a used car for and what they are prepared to buy a used car for are different, and the used car dealers will try and profit from the difference in that.
So when you have a used car and you want to get a quote for it, it really depends where you are when you are getting the quote and who you are getting the quote from. Probably the best example of this is when you take your car into a dealer with the intention of trading it in for the car that you want to buy.
Before you do this, you should go to a well known used car price guide and look up the ballpark of what you should be quoted for the car that you have. These price guides will go into the kind of detail like make, model, trim, year, mileage and condition and sometimes with equipment and will give you a price range through which you should expect to get.
Remember at all times that the dealer is trying to make money, he is in a business, so when you come in with a car that the used car price guide has suggested you should be getting around $5000 for, and he is saying that he will give you $6000, it's not because he is giving charity, it could be because he knows he is making a lot of money out of you on the car you are buying. However, it is more than likely that the quote you get from a used car dealer for your trade in will be a good deal lower than what you were expecting and sometimes that is the trade off you have to make in order to get the good price on the car you are buying.
When you are buying a car, you can get a used car quote from many websites which have been set up to tell you what you should expect to pay for whatever car you are looking for, whilst also probably being able to put you in touch with dealers who have that car in stock.
Just remember that these quotes are just that, quotes, and you can still negotiate if you want to. Also, its worth getting a lot of quotes for the car that you want to buy, so that you can use them to trade off each other.
