Satellite TV Descramblers - Equipment Guide

What they are - Why are they needed

Satellite tv descramblers

Satellite television providers insist that their customers have descramblers in order to watch satellite television.

It is this equipment that prevents signals being intercepted by unauthorized users - it is very hard for digital signals to be intercepted in this way, but when received by valid customers these signals need to be descrambled into something that can be presented through the television set.

The cost of satellite TV descramblers can be anything up to about $300, however if you subscribe to Dish Network or DirecTV, you will not need to buy one as it is already included in your subscription. For more information please see the area on Satellite Television Receivers.
