Gucci Luggage Review

Designer traveling companions

Designer baggage

When it comes to traveling in utmost style and luxury, the must-have accessory is Gucci luggage. The absolute height of designer chic, Gucci luggage has been seen toted by the rich and famous for many decades.

The legacy of this famous brand started back in 1921, in Florence, Italy, when Guccio Gucci started his small saddlery and luggage business, producing high-quality leather goods. The business grew over the following decade, with the shop attracted high-society clientele all seeking Gucci’s (www.gucci.com) fine products.

It was during the 1950s that Gucci experienced a huge surge in popularity and started to branch into being a global company, with the opening of their New York store. This was also when the famous striped webbing (originating from the saddle girth) that became a trademark for the company was introduced into the line.

A continued growth in popularity continued in the 1960s with the who’s who of Hollywood and American culture embracing Gucci products and luggage, making it the label to be seen with. It was at the end of this decade that the signature ‘GG’ logo which the company is synonymous for was created.

Gucci a leader in the luxury luggage market

Still going strong as a multi-million dollar company, Gucci now has a strong and versatile line of luggage on the market. These exclusive sets include baby carriers, backpacks, computer cases, diaper bags, duffels, garment bags, men’s bags, messenger bags, shoulder bags, suitcases, toiletry cases, totes and trolleys. All pieces are highly distinctive featuring the fashionable Gucci logo.

Traditional Gucci luggage designs feature fabrics incorporating beige/ebony or black ‘GG’ logo designs. While all the pieces are functional and practical and would suit any traveler, they lack the full bells and whistles that other brands of luxury posses – such as wet pockets etc.

While Gucci luggage is extremely expensive for your average citizen (a full set can set buyers back around the equivalent of the cost of a month long luxury vacation in the Bahamas), the pieces are all exquisitely crafted to last a lifetime. But alas – for those who love the look of this type of luggage, there are a number of dealers on the market nowadays who manufacture a full line of Gucci replica luggage at a more reasonable cost.
