Mainstream Kayaks are a South Carolina based company that produces a range of recreational sit on top and sit in kayaks for family use. The company prides itself on quality and value and aim to make kayaking fun for all the family.

Sit on top Range

Mainstream Kayaks open decked, sit on top kayaks are made for ease of use and stability. The highly durable kayaks are easy to enter and exit and have a wide beam which creates excellent stability. Despite their lack of tippiness the kayaks maintain good overall manoeuvrability.

The self bailing Kingfish is an excellent model for anglers and features a recess for a three to five gallon bucket, a small tackle box holder, molded fishing rod holders and an oval bow hatch as well as stern deck rigging and a scuba tank recess. Bow and stern carry handles as well as side carry handles make it easy to transport.

Another of Mainstream Kayaks’ popular sit on top models is the Impression, a highly manoeuvrable kayak with all the features you need for recreational paddling or diving. It features a molded-in dive tank recess, bow deck rigging, an eight inch bow storage hatch and accessory deck loops.

Sit in Range

Mainstream also manufactures a range of traditional sit in kayaks for recreational use. One of their most popular solo sit in designs is the Patriot. The Patriot has a large cockpit for easy access, a stern storage hatch and bulkhead, and molded in fishing rod holders. For high comfort levels the Patriot has a padded high back seat and back rest with adjustable support and adjustable footbraces.

Sportsmen series

Sportsmen kayaks from Mainstream come in two colours – pine or camouflage and are popular with anglers. The Kingfish and Patriot are both available in the Sportsmen series and have some special extra modifications for fishing folk.
