Subaru roof rack attachments are manufactured by Yakima , www.yakima.com, for Subaru Parts, www.subaruparts.com (phone 1-877-473-6200). These come with clamps that mount to the factory rack assembly. These racks are lockable with a set of keys. There is also a fork mounted roof rack available that attaches to either the round or square cross bar kit, or the heavy-duty roof cargo basket. It holds one bike with a locking stainless steel skewer and a rear wheel hold down strap. It also has an optional front wheel holder.
Thule racks, www.thuleracks.com, are also made to fit Subaru vehicles in roof-mount, tow-hitch-mounted, roof bar and racks, and rear-mounted bike racks for various Subaru models.
The hitch mount bike rack/carrier slides into the trailer hitch and carries two bikes. It dismounts the bikes without lifting, and swivels down to access the hatch. A trailer hitch is required, and it is not recommended for solid wheel bicycles that may block the tail lights.
For the Subaru with a bed, a bed mount bike rack with lockable components is available. It holds up to two bikes with fork mounts, and includes holders for the front wheels.
Racks are designed to fit the Outback, Impreza, Legacy, Forester, and Baja model Subaru vehicles.
