Sportsworks Bike Racks and Bicycle Carriers
Sportworks, www.bicycleracks.com, began producing handlebars and forks for Scott USA in 1990. The Woodinville, Washington based company bent and processed the parts or Scott USA until the past 10 years when they began making their own products such as the Bike-Rack-for-Buses and Quick-load bike racks. They have the ability to make most things that involve fabricating tubing, most of the products being sports related. Ski poles, snowshoes, bicycle handlebars and exercise equipment parts are examples of some of their products.
The Bike-Rack-for-Buses originated from wanting to make bicycling more accessible to more people. Today they can be found on buses across the country.
The Quick-load bike racks were started after the success with the Bike-Rack-for-Buses. This rack is known for its 10-second load time, and no wheel removal. The racks also carry almost every size and type of bicycle.
Sportworks has also developed a roof rack for bicycles that follows their tradition of being easy to load and carries most any type of bike; it is called the Bob Ratchet rack. This rack easily attaches to Thule® and Yakima®, www.yakima.com brand crossbars. It comes fully assembled and easy to install. There is also a model for tandem bikes.
Sportworks introduced another rack in 2001 called the TranSport it carries up to four bikes. It features the Bob Ratchet arm and the quick load theme. They also have a pickup bed rack called the Insta-Gator for wheels-on use in a truck bed. Their MOD rack holds up to three bikes with the Spring-loaded Quick-load system. They even offer a model for conventional or recumbent bicycles. The FreeRider DH is a heavy duty rack for the downhiller, free rider, electric bike rider and can be used while towing a vehicle. They offer custom hitch fitting and other accessories, and a number of mounting brackets.
Sportworks also makes a seatpost rack for transporting cargo on the bicycle www.headlandbike.com. Customer service can be reached by phone at 1-888-661-0555.
