Backsaw – get one that cuts cleanly and smoothly and make sure you use it safely.

A miter box – crucial if you want to cut your frame to the right angle and available for as little as $10.

Measuring tools (yardstick, combination square, lead pencil, steel tape measure or rule) – the four basic tools you’ll need if you want to make your own picture frame, marking and measuring spot on is vital. Make sure your pencil is extra fine as this will give you a greater level of accuracy.
