Leather Picture Frames: Bound in Style
Napa and Faux Leather
Leather or leather-look picture frames add a real touch of style to any décor, and look especially effective when used in a room with other animal prints, suede and faux-furs.
Thanks to its naturally strong and waterproof qualities, the use of leather has always been a popular choice within the home. Whether it is used to cover an armchair or to back a beautiful photo album, leather can be used to suit a surprisingly large number of decors.
One room that leather furniture and accessories look totally suited to is the study. Orange, green and berry-colored leather picture frames, in trays, note holders, mouse pads and CD holders will all sit beautifully on a traditional dark-wood desk.
For a more modern feel, you could opt for dark brown or even cream tones to achieve a sophisticated but contemporary look. These colors look equally good in dining rooms and bedrooms, where matching items like leather-framed mirrors, waste bins and candle holders can be incorporated.
As with most leather goods, you really do get what you pay for. The very best products in soft, Florentine Napa leather, which is buffed to loosen fibers, will be expensive whilst untreated hide will be more reasonable in price but perhaps not have the same luxury look about it. Faux-leather is cheaper and a great alternative if you are against the use of animal products.
