Bedroom Furniture Manufacturers
Doing your homework
Dealing with bedroom furniture manufacturers isn't always easy. However, there are some steps you can take to make sure that you don't get ripped off.
Find out about the manufacturer's reputation. Are they well known? How long have they been making bedroom furniture? A company that has been going for nearly a century is usually more reliable than one that started last week - the older company has a hard-earned reputation to preserve. You should also ask friends about which bedroom furniture makers they have encountered, and what their experiences were like. Word of mouth can be the best recommendation of all.
Try to assess the quality of the furniture on offer. Use your common sense: hand-made furniture is likely to be of a higher quality than machine-manufactured furniture, while solid wood is of a higher quality than laminate. Avoid bedroom furniture manufacturers that are cagey about the materials or methods they use.
Check out the guarantees on offer. If you don't like the furniture, will you be able to bring it back and get a refund? A reputable bedroom furniture manufacturer will have a returns policy, usually allowing you to bring the furniture back within 30 or 60 days.
Find out about hidden charges. For example, is shipping free or is there a charge? If the charge for delivery seems high, shop around. Does your local furniture store stock the same item by the same manufacturer? If so, can you get a better deal on shipping from the store? It doesn't always save you money to cut out the middleman.
Find out about the after-sales service. Is it easy to get advice on caring for your furniture? Is there a number you can call if you have a complaint about your furniture? Is there a white-glove delivery service?
