Dual Pack Heating and Cooling Air Conditioning

Bryant Air Conditioners

Bryant air conditioners are rated by the “American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy” as being one of the most energy efficient brands around. Bryant was purchased by the Carrier Corporation in 1955 and is now considered to be the ‘budget brand’ of Carrier. This means you can expect the same quality and energy efficiency ratings but at a lower price unfortunately it also means that you may have to forfeit the Silencer technology that many Carrier models are popular for. On a hot and humid day, however, this could probably be easily forgiven.

All Bryant air conditioners undergo more than twenty production tests before they are packaged. These tests are carried out on every unit and ensure that they have been properly assembled and are in good working order.

The heating equipment that Bryant developed was utilized by the US Navy and army in the late 1930’s. Around the same time Bryant developed the Silica Gel Dehumidifier which was a significant development not only for the company but for the air treatment industry too. This earned more recognition for Bryant air conditioners which went on to become one of the most reputable brands in the USA. In the 1980’s the company went on to develop the first outdoor heating and cooling unit called the Dual Pack.

In 1949 Bryant joined Day & Night and Payne to form the AGE (Affiliated Gas Equipment). It was then that Carrier purchased the company. By this time Bryant air conditioners were already among the most popular brands in the USA and the company had established a strong reputation. In 1974 Carrier formed the BDP company which integrated the AGE (Bryant, Day & Night and Payne). This pushed Bryant into the global arena as BDP became a prominent logistics company providing transportation, via air or ocean, on an international level.

Bryant's units were among the first to be produced using Puron as an alternative to other refrigerants that contain CFC’s, almost 10 years before the government enforced the removal of all ozone-depleting refrigerants from such products.
