Guide4Home Dishwashers
After manufacturing more than ten million dishwashers over a period of 75 years, German company Miele has learned a thing or two about how to wash and dry dishes in a machine. Miele dishwashers are regarded as some of the best in the business, but they don’t come cheap.

Even the most basic model is likely to cost around $1000 and if you want one of the top-of-the-range models you’ll need to spend several hundred more. However, if you can swallow spending nearly twice as much as you would on another brand, they are worth the investment.

Fully Integrated and Slimline Models

Miele dishwashers are grouped into three different series, Incognito, Touchtronic and Novotronic. The Incognito dishwashers are fully integrated and operate with single-push-buttons. The Novotronic series can be operated with a single knob and the Touchtronic (slimline) series are operated by pushing a single button, with no separated temperature or drying selections.

One of the Miele features that makes it stand out from its UK competitors is the cutlery tray which replaces the traditional cutlery basket. This additional third tray is located at the top of the machine, which eliminates the need for bending over to unload the cutlery. This tray cradles each piece of cutlery to help ensure it is thoroughly washed and dried. With no need for a cutlery basket, there is more space in the bottom rack for more dishes.

All units (including slimline) come equipped with some level of stainless steel interior which helps with conducting heat and therefore, the drying process. All models also have three spray arms to help maximize water circulation.

Miele dishwashers also score a few points from those who are keen to be green with an environmental conscience. The machines use only 6.3 gallons of water which is considerably less than some of the other major brands. The amount of detergent specified is also less, two tablespoons, compared to many other brands that use three.
